Minimalism is what is being proclaimed in recent years more relevant than ever, as it provides an answer to the rapid rhythms of the modern world. Its logic is simple. "Don't live things that distract you". It is not a matter of poor austerity, but of more important things on a personal level. People, objects, activities.
The No Thinkin Team today analyzes what minimalism offers and if it's possible in the modern age.

We save money

A very basic benefit that minimalism offers us is that we buy less. Of course, this comes with spending less money. So from making mindless purchases in many different things that have no use in our lives, we choose few but quality ones. A simple example is buying fewer but more quality clothes that will last us for years, instead of lots of fast fashion clothes with a short-term life. Another example is the items we buy for our space. Instead of filling our space with unlimited decorations that create confusion, we choose few and quality ones that convey calmness and balance.

We focus on the (really) important stuff

The whole process of choosing what to own leads us to set priorities. When we seek to have little, we choose only those that are of quality, that are worthy, that are truly our favorites. And we give them all the value they deserve. We give them all our energy and care. Conversely, when we try to have it all, we fragment our attention between less important things. This distinction between what we really need and what wastes our time extends from material things to all areas of life.

It's good for the environment

The desire to constantly have more and to constantly buy something new fuels over-consumerism. This burdens the environment. Global industries based on market demands and waste produced end up in the environment. By buying and consuming less, the volume of waste is much less and environmental pollution moves at a slower pace.

We don't get distracted

Minimalism means less and above all, no unnecessary objects. Learn to live with less and stop buying things you don't need. Be focused on what you want to do and get rid of unnecessary things, activities and people. The concept of "removal" relieves us of stress, and removes a weight we don't realize is there. The burden of abundance and fictitious needs that are increasingly created in the modern era. So we give our attention to the things and people that are really worth it.

Minimalism in 2022: is it possible?

This is a question that concerns many. How is it that in an age that changes so quickly and creates new needs for us, we can resist? First, the most important thing is that we really want to make (and see) a change in our lives. Also, it's good to accept that this won't happen overnight. And that's perfectly fine. Impulsive changes do not help anywhere. Instead, slow and gradual changes usually bring the most lasting and meaningful results.

We really hope this article helped you better understand minimalism and motivated you to incorporate it into your life. The first step you can take is a cleanup of your home decorations and your clothes!
