We are not living under coronavirus lockdown (yet), thought our daily habits have remained almost the same. Mass gatherings and events belong to the past, while Netflix and chill is our favorite habit when back home.

Personally, I admit that I’m one of those who will turn on Netflix every day, after I finally sit on the couch. I sometimes search for classic Hollywood movies and other times I want to do a tv series marathon!

So, here’s the series we watched in the last couple of weeks and attracted our interest.

1. Emily in Paris

Of course we saw the whole first season in one night and we searched the protagonist Lily Collins on Instagram right after!

The creators of Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada joined forces and created the very enjoyable series “Emily in Paris”. Consisting of 10 half-hour episodes, which where filmed in France, before the pandemic.

Emily, an American fashionista and marketer, brings her can-do American attitude and fresh ideas to her new office in Paris, but her inability to speak French turns out to be a major faux pas. Accidentally, her neighbor is a very charming young chef who helps her with the French language and he certainly does not go unnoticed (not to us either!).

After landing her dream job in Paris, Emily discovers that her growing social media following opens doors as an influencer. In case you haven’t seen it yet, we will not spoil more. Be sure that from the very first episode that you will feel nostalgic about travelling and of course you’ll say “Paris is always a good idea”!

2. Ratched

Hello thriller lovers! This TV show is full of tension, mystery, and blood. To be precise enough of blood, so if your stomach cannot stand it, you better avoid watching it. You must see at least the prisoner’s jeans pants that we just adore, okay we also adore him!

In 1947, Mildred Ratched begins working at a leading psychiatric hospital, pretending to be a nurse so she can save her brother from the death row. From our point of view, the series passes some messages through the dramatic images that unfold inside the clinic.  For example,  when it comes to the homosexual women who were locked in the psychiatric hospital accusing them of being ill. The cure for this was to torture them, believing that with the pain they were causing them, they would eliminate their “sick wants”. Tragic we know, but without wanting to do further spoilers these women had a good end.

It reminds us of the “American Horror Story” and Ratched certainly keeps you in a crazy agony for next season.

3. Selling Sunset

I started it for fun because a friend of Mirketa told her to watch it and Mirketa told me! When I put the first episode I was thinking that I will have a breakdown in the first 10 minutes as I had read that it is a docusoap (a television documentary series in which the lives of the people filmed are presented as entertainment or drama), but I actually did not suffer at all! On the contrary, something from what I was watching made me forget the tiredness of my day and the problems for a while! The plot is described as follows: Oppenheim Group employs the No. 1 West Hollywood and Sunset Strip brokers who are selling luxury to affluent Los Angeles shoppers. I should not forget to mention that apart from the two brothers who own the company, the entire real estate agency consists of female employees. And not just basic women… With the arrival of a new real estate agent, who is in fact the wife of Justin Hartley (“This Is Us”), the drama begins!  If you are obsessed with real estate, you will probably like it.

See you soon with new Netflix & Chill suggestions!
